In Colorado, first time home buyer programs are offered by the Colorado Housing Assistance Corporation. These include loans which stretch out for a 30 year period and borrowers may qualify for one of the following types:

• Interest rate is 6% with payments deferred 5 years at 0% interest and then paid back over the remaining 25 years
• Interest rate is 5% with payments deferred 3 years at 0% interest and then paid back over the remaining 27 years
• Interest rate is 2% with payments being made straight away

Qualifications:

• First time home buyer
• Must be able to pay $1,000 at their own cost towards down payment and closing costs
